Red Rose Football League
Official Bylaws (Summary)
The Red Rose Football League is governed by a set of bylaws that outline the league’s structure, purpose and operating procedures. Below is a brief summary of key articles. This information is provided as a convenience only; for the complete text please download the official PDF using the link at the bottom of this page.
Article I – Name & Object
The organization is formally known as the Red Rose Midget Football League. Its object is to run a supervised football program for children in Lancaster County and nearby communities. Objectives include encouraging character, good citizenship, respect for church and family, scholarship, thrift, health and sportsmanship.
Article II – Membership
Member clubs are community teams located in Lancaster City, Lancaster County or adjacent counties. Admission of new teams requires a written application submitted prior to the annual meeting and approval by a two‑thirds vote of league directors. To maintain membership, organizations must supply their players with proper equipment and abide by league regulations.
Article III – Officers & Governance
The league is overseen by a Board of Directors. Officers include a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer elected at the annual meeting. Directors from each member organization attend league meetings and vote on rules, budgets and disciplinary matters. A “buddy system” pairs new directors with experienced mentors to ensure continuity.
Article IV – Competition & Eligibility
Teams compete in regular season games followed by playoffs and a league championship. Player eligibility is determined by age and weight. A detailed description of divisions and age/weight guidelines can be found on our information page. The bylaws also outline regulations for game conduct, tie‑breaking procedures and sportsmanship standards.
These are only highlights; the bylaws cover many more topics such as insurance requirements, protests, penalties and financial obligations. For complete details please download the official document below.
